DUDE, sorry, but i'm going to have to disagree completely. regardless of musical talent, egos are rampant and to me, this DOES detract heavily from considering their artistic merit. it is one thing when james brown talks in the third person about himself, but he has a god damn right to. his musical contributions to the modern musical culture are simply incalcuable. in fact, since so much of the initial wave of rap music relied extensively on sampling older soul and funk and r&b records, it woudld make more sense to me if all of them came out of the clockworks and let their egos flare but it doesn't happen because luckily MOST of them are getting compensated
