so i just saw CLOVERFIELD and yeah... it was awesome.

seriously though, it's fantastic. i'll keep this relatively short: in my opinion, two movies stand out from the 1990s that totally encompassed the era perfectly and ended up changing cinema: TERMINATOR 2 and PULP FICTION. TERMINATOR 2

I'm glad the movie turned out to be good. I thought the trailers were going to be better than the actual film.

I thought the movie was excellent too. I was excited the whole time with a goofy smile on my face. The only part I didn't like was seeing the monster in full view when he ate Hud. It seemed out of place and the monster looked a lot smaller than in all the other scenes. Everything else though was perfect.

And did you recognize marlena as the girl who played Janis Ian on Mean Girls?

the shot of the monster from hud's POV was (imo) deliberately thrown in to appease that average movie goer. perspective wise, i can only say that if he look straight up at the damn thing, it woudl be hard to tell how much distance is between them and that would automatically make him seem smaller. then again, there are those camps who say that there TWO cloverfield monsters (one of the parasites grows up maybe?), but i think its just the single one.

meh I just saw it with my dad and when we walked out I said "Blair Witch Project in the city...and you see the monster" and he was like "exactly"...I'm probably not the first person to say that.
