Hubby took Puppy for a walk day before yesterday and while he was sniffing around in the park (as dogs are wont to do) he found himself a chicken bone. He swallowed half of it before Hubby to get it from him

Whatever size your dog is he's still a dog, believe it or not dogs are carnivores and (whodathunkit) MEAT is GOOD for them. I can't stand the thinking that says "dogs can't eat meat". Read the ingredients of most dogfood it's full of crap like cornmeal and wheat usually they are the first two ingredients listed. I recently had to change Abby's food because of allergies to corn/not enough nutrients in her food. Bitch was shedding like a machine and her skin was super dry, she had nasty bad danruff so I switched her to a food that is mostly lamb & rice.

As for the chicken bone.. Dogs usually pass that stuff fine, just keep an eye on his stinker, if his stool gets blood in it then you need to get him to the vet.

We had been feeding him a British brand where the first ingredient was chicken, now we're giving him the one his vet recommended to keep his kidneys healthy (he had crystals in is urine and a possible kidney infection) and the top ingredients are pork fat and chicken.

You get it with just bread and meat? While I understand that this would make any normal dog perfectly happy, Kaelie would be devastated if it didn't have lettuce on it.

Just sayin', your dog is not the only spoiled puppy on the planet. ;)
