When Naruto woke up that morning, he couldn't resist the strange feeling that came over him. It was almost... gloomy, maybe even borderline-depressive, and it made him wonder if he really wanted to get out of bed. Yes, he did promise Sakura he would go on some shopping adventure or another, but he felt almost... dead in a way.
But like the self-proclaimed genius persona he had built would do, he decided to roll over until he fell out of bed. Unfortunately, it was at his moment of half-bedded/half-floored-ness that a gray hand decided to punch through his window, shattering the glass and happily embedding shards into his back.
"Holy...! Ouch!" The first thought that came to him was some over-eager anti-Kyuubi protester had decided to leave him a lovely wake-up call, but a closer look at those blackened nails, rotting fingers, and peeling skin made him reconsider.
"...Is that you, Sakura?" he said incredulously ( ... )

Third Person Writing Sample; Early morning light fell languidly across the pile of blankets that had commandeered Hyuuga Neji’s bed, trapping the usually placid sleeper beneath in a deathlock of cotton and down. A beam of light streaked its way across a marked brow, and Neji turned over.

Something squished.

Neji wasn’t quite sure what had squished, being in the half-awake state that he was. He also wasn’t aware that squished was an adjective currently in his vocabulary, but it seemed to describe the feeling and, as previously stated, he was half-asleep.

It took Neji a moment of full consciousness to realize what was wrong. Or rather, what had awoken him. Brushing a hand under his chest to dislodge the blanket that was bunched uncomfortably, Neji’s eyes snapped open as his hand brushed something distinctly...fleshy instead. Not cottony at all. Certainly not his comforter ( ... )

Third person writing sample: Tenten knew that the dryer machine eating all her coins was definitely a sign of bad things to come.

So she had the faithful task of returning all her wet, wrinkly clothes back into the hamper, where it would probably smell as bad as it previously was. It was a tedious task, something Tenten didn’t enjoy doing, but laundry was laundry. In end, it had to be done. Or else.

As she walked down the sidewalk back to her house (jumping across rooftops would be easier of course, but then finding out your neighbors discovered a stray bra in their backyard really didn’t make such a great morning), she noticed the scent of…something in the air. It wasn’t pleasant either, but it was there and it was smelly. Alarmed, she quicken her pace, hoping it wasn’t like that one time where she left her meatloaf special in the oven and ran off because Lee or Neji called ( ... )
