I only came into Dr Who with David Tennant (and retro actively Christopher Eccleston ), I never really watched nor was all that interested in the earlier series, and I'm not sure I really like the new guy Matt whats-his-name..

And yet, I'm super excited about this Saturday -- Day of the Doctor cue Tardis music here... Watched the mini pre episode

I wish I was excited. I'm one of like four people on earth who did NOT like Ten(nant). I loved Nine and Rose and Capt Jack and Eleven and the Ponds- Eleven was my Doctor. I'll watch him regenerate but I'm not sure I'll keep watching beyond that. We'll see. :/

Not sure I will either but I'm looking forward to the special.. from what I gather from the mini pre episode, John Hurt is in it, and plays Doctor 8.5 I do miss Captain jack. David Tennant was recently on this brit music quiz show called Never Mind the Buzzcocks -- Special doctor who edition, and he kept making all these great John Barryman references. It was loads of fun.

Yeah, him and Barrowman are really awesome together, that is true. I assume you saw the clip where he kissed John on the mouth at a con and John pretended to faint? GOOD TIMEZ.

yup. adoraballs. I didn't like Eccleston at first, that season seemed to suddenly come alive when JB came aboard..

Thanks for the reminder - I MIGHT be able to see it in a theater on Monday, which might make my life. But, you don't like Eleven? *faints*

ohh, in a theatre, that sounds cool.

I don't actively dislike the guy,but he's just meh for me, and I only watch occasionally when I happen to catch an episode.... supposed CE and DT were hard acts to follow, but never got invested in him as the Doctor..

I'm looking forward to it. I came in with Nine and all the Dr Revisted stuff was interesting to see but I still don't get into the earlier stuff. I'm not sure how I'll take John Hurt (Mom is deeply disappointed) but I'll watch and see

Yeah, I don't get the early stuff as well, I think this episode might go into the Time war stuff, so I'm looking forward to that. I wish Christopher Eccleston had agreed to to the show.

Mom is disappointed??? I could never be disappointed to see John Hurt in anything....

I hadn't know Eccleston hadn't (I'm sent about a dozen links for this a day from friends but haven' thad time to look at any of them). I would like to see the time war though.
