Tomorrow would be Christmas Eve.
Tomorrow would be Christmas Eve and the house was bare. No decorations, no Christmas tree, no presents.
It's as much as one would expect to find inside the Vargas Mansion, especially now that it was just Antonio and Lovino living there. Antonio had made an effort with decorations but the Mansion was large and he hadn't succeeded as far as getting a tree up, let alone finding ornaments to hang on it.
It felt too quiet without Feliciano around, even for an Italian who would much rather sleep through the festivities than celebrate them. Antonio would probably want to do something tomorrow as well, and then they'd have to go out and buy food and put up with god awful Christmas carols and people shoving nativity scenes onto every second corner.
--And the people!
It was a bastardized Commercial holiday that forced everyone to acknowledge their family for one day a year, and without family Lovino believed that he had every right to enjoy the day off in bed.
But Antonio wouldn't be like that.
And so, to shut the Spaniard up and hopefully keep him content for the day, Lovino Vargas made a compromise. Upon returning from work, Toni would find a
small decorated tree with a single wrapped present on his bedside table.
In the box was a single key, which would fit perfectly into one of the four locks fitted into the front door of the Mansion.
