one - the other day i was looking for pictures of explosions, or things that were really full, about to burst. i couldn't find exactly what i wanted, and maybe making one of my own will by my next project. there are a lot of projects i don't actually do because i get too excited about new ideas, but that's really satisfying in its own empty good- ( Read more... )

i think i concur on most accounts, quite especially on the creative writing front because i miss assignments too somehow? in a not dorky schoolish way but just in a direction-full way because they make things much more organized. and on the sluttishness business as well because goddamn. i intend to live an exciting enough life so as to be rather unattractive, by the time i'm 80. hopefully in a grandmotherly and not in a sluttish way. i rest my case.

it's a good thing, you know, that we started out in the same place. or found each other in the monkey bars at kidspace, at least. this is more of a response to our current conversation than your comment. and to our conversation that time in the tent, and how sometimes we drink too much, and overanylization, and art classes together, and the book we made but never finished, and white's pond, and things like that.

i had forgotten about the tent night and how everything made a lot of sense for a little while until we saw the scary shadow and realized that instead of talking maybe we should throw dirt on our illegal fire. that was rather a nice night aside from the drowning in the morning, and even that had its aesthetic value i think. maybe someday when we both are a lot more accomplished at life we can finish the book? another aside, i think white's pond frozen will be nice. or at least nice.

haha. i had forgotten about that part. leave it to us to end a serious conversation to worry about a giant penis-shadow and stomp fire. and take a nap at five am in a giant lake of a tent while everyone around us flees. and even have penis-flavored, naked-flavored, and "keep a positive attitude in spite of everything" or whatever-flavored vacations. and, yeah! white's pond frozen will be perfect, because white's pond is always perfect. especially that day when we cut school to greet spring. we better finish our book. i think pages of it are going in my portfolio, gosh darn!

i think they make you save the upcs and send them in if you want the toys now. actually though, i got some awesome cat in the hat toys in my cereal box last winter, so maybe you just gotta look harder.

sending in the upcs < tearing through cardboard and plastic and little cereal bits to find a dusty plastic bag. but yeah, i'm going to keep my eye out from now on.

Re: writing assignments -- I was trying to do NaNoWriMo this month... it's probably not going to happen 'cause I'm just too busy but so far as crazy motivational stuff goes it's kinda neat. :)

The closest to toys now seem to be the mail-in side-of-the-box things, and even those not so much. I was never organized enough to actually collect UPCs, and though I guess you'd get the "whee, mail!" sentiment eventually it might not be as good as the immediate "whee, toy!" thing, but... ... ... I seem to have lost track of the goal of this sentence.

... and now that I actually read the rest of the comments i see the UPCs have already been touched on. Darn.

What was fun when I was a little kid, though? I used to visit my grandmother and she'd have already saved all the UPCs and have stamps and everything all organized and all I had to do was fill out the little forms for things I liked and choose UPCs and then send them, and I was greatly amused by the whole process.

woah, a novel in a month! that sounds like a recipe for negative amounts of sleep. that thing with your grandmother sounds really cool! i pretty much love getting mail a ton. but having to pay postage for a "free toy" gets me somehow. %#$&@*!!
