Welcome to Round 1 of our community challenges! In conjunction with the winter’s
itanaruswap we will be helping to provide lots of ItaNaru goodness and hope to bring our corner of fandom closer together.
What is a bingo?
A bingo is a type of challenge where themed prompts are handed out as a bingo card and can be filled to gather points.
What do I do?
When you sign up (further details at the
sign up post here), you will be given a 5x5 bingo card. There are a range of different ways to ‘complete’ a card and you earn a different amount of points for however you complete your card.
Fills must be 1000 words minimum and there is no maximum. As explained more thoroughly on the sign up post, you can fill any number of fills, from 0 to the full 25. This is a low-pressure challenge and a way to stretch your own creativity than work toward a deadline.
What’s the schedule like?
As this is a fairly relaxed challenge, we will be closing sign ups on he 5th November 2012, when
itanaruswap opens), but we will be accepting fanworks until 1st January 2013. There are no deadlines to meet, no check-ins to be made or anything like that.
We will offer a ‘reminder’ service, which will have a mod emailing you on a regular basis (to be decided by you) if you so wish. This will be available at all times if you wish to use it and you can opt out of it at any time too.
What prompts are there to choose from?
While you can’t choose prompts yourself, you can see what prompts are available at this post here. You can also choose up to 10 prompts that you do not want on your card. Please also let us know if you have anything that could be harmful to receive. This challenge is about fun and we don’t want to cause you any harm.
Where do I post to?
Anywhere you like. If you like using fanfiction.net then you can post there. If you like AO3, lj, DW or any other site, then you can post there. You can post to all of them if you’d like! We will post links on the community (submission information below) and keep track of your bingo progress.
How to submit:
- Post your story wherever you want, making sure it meets the minimum criteria (found on the sign up post) and fits the prompt
- Email us at itanarufest@gmail.com or leave a comment on the mod post here with the following information:
Title: [what type of fanwork it is and the title of your work e.g. art: Bingo]
Prompt: [the prompt you used]
Summary: [if applicable]
Rating: [the rating of the work, we use
MPAA]
Warnings: [please see our required warnings post]
Notes: [any notes you wish to add]
Link: [link to your work]
- A mod will then post it to the main community with the link to your work. We will keep a masterpost organised by participant and update it as required. You can submit more than one piece at a time if you’d like.
While I’d like to think I’ve covered everything here, I’ve no doubt left something off. If you have any questions about this round then please don’t hesitate to get in contact. Comments are screened initially here and we always accept questions via our email - itanarufest@gmail.com
