Until how old can you get away with wearing shorts?

If you’re not swimming or participating in a sporting event, do you have to otherwise be in long pants?

Just so you know, you needn't pay attention to the Labor Day rule.
Also, I don't remember your legs being grotesquely hairy, so feel free to wear shorts on casual occasions. But no dress socks with shorts for the love of all that is holy.

i will be wearing shorts for many years. mainly because it's too damn hot to wear pants in the summer all the time

As a general rule, you're right. Adult males generally should avoid wearing shorts. However, in America, the short isn't as taboo as in Europe where being an adult actually means comporting with a certain understanding of class that often clashes with comfort. In the good ole' U.S. of A., when the heat demands and circumstances permit casual dress, shorts can be worn confidently provided a few considerations are taken into account ( ... )
