... I swear I need to know this for work, okay.

CLARIFICATION since I am le dum: "Both" is more like "I use both forms, but in specific ways" and "either" is "I use them interchangeably."

I use either, but SEH-mee more. If I had to pull a linguistic explanation out of my ass it would be because English usually likes to have the stress in nouns be on the first syllable. Possibly the other gets used if it's more natural in the meter of the sentence?

I use either, and neither is used more frequently than the other.
