Think Hard Rock Cafe with fangs. Fangtasia is a vampire-themed goth-industrial nightclub, which primarily caters to humans but which will serve any creature it's equipped to do so-- and it tries to be very well-equipped. Although Fangtasia emphasizes pop vampire traditions of Eric Northman's own home, the sort of camp atmosphere appreciated by goths and those with a healthy sense of humor, it also emphasizes safe mingling between the natural and the supernatural. Come and meet a friendly neighborhood vampire or a werewolf, reads the overall feel-- here, at least, they won't bite.
Decor is primarily black and red, with the walls painted floor-to-ceiling crimson, the wood dark and the metal stainless steel or painted black. No-nonsense with a Swedish Modern consideration toward furniture (modular fixtures, blocky red leather couches), and an emphasis on industrial and pop gothic design sensibilities.
Music is varied, with 80s Night on Wednesdays (heavy on the Siouxsie and the Ramones), Ladies' Night on Thursdays and a DJ on Saturdays and a mixture or anything from rap to hard rock on most nights, mostly what you would suspect (a lot of Metallica and Rob Zombie) and then again some things you wouldn't (such a Britney's 'Toxic'.) Either way, the bass is always thumping like a good strong human heart.
Employees who are not gogo dancers can be spotted by their Fangtasia uniform t-shirts, which are red or black and sport the nightclub's name and the phrase 'life begins at night.' There is no other dress code for employees.
The bar is open from 8pm to 4am, with happy hour at 1am. A limited menu of food is available, mostly finger foods, but all of these are top-quality and usually modern fusion food fare.
Because of the 'mingling' nature of the club, there are a few strict rules.
1: No fighting on premises.
2: No biting on premises (even consensual biting.)
3: No selling of drugs of any kind. Zero tolerance policy.
4: No frontal nudity. Shirts and shoes are mandatory.
5: No alcohol from outside of the club.
6: ABSOLUTELY NO WEAPONS. Including stakes. Zero tolerance policy.
A bouncer is always available within the club, and there is a weapons and coat check at the door. There is a small cover charge.
The club is in the Overground, not the Underground, and is touted as a generally safe, friendly place for even the most naive of human to spend a night out, provided that one doesn't hassle the other patrons, whether they're vampire or human. The club sells many pieces of memorabilia, such as clothing and shot glasses.
