What do I see? A person I trust with my life, the only man I can count on. Truthfully surprising when taking on account I was raised to hunt down the Count's kind. Eventually I came to understand lacking a heartbeat and having a peculiar dental job does not make you less or more a monster than anybody else.

You were a vampire hunter?

And it isn't monstrousness or the lack thereof that I am talking about. Humans grow old. And disgusting. Then they die.

No, I am a knight of United Kingdom who fights against supernatural threats, the mission has changed over the years.

Do you truly believe in immortality? Nothing will last forever, some will endure more than others, however the result will be the same. Alucard appears to have a fetish about old age that didn't bother him, but the point is moot now.

I see. That is relieving. I don't take kindly to that kind of violence.

I truly believe that twenty good years isn't enough to satisfy one of my kind.

I don't think it can really be avoided. Or, well, maybe the world you come from has so many immortals in it that they can avoid forming any kind of relationship with mortal people, but that kind of segregated lifestyle seems like it would get very tedious after a while.

I can't help but think that it'd be more unhealthy that way than the other.

Of course friendships and business relationships and such aren't what you're talking about, but I'm not sure I see much of a distinction, in the end. As long as everyone involved keeps their expectations reasonable, what's fulfilling is really up to them, isn't it?

Of course I'm hardly speaking from any kind of personal experience. Maybe if I'd lived for a few hundred years, I'd have a different perspective on the subject.

The latter is the case. My world has a healthy population of vampires in most first world countries. Segregation is less an issue when you appear to be naturally unequal.

Humans are emotional creatures. To us relationships are different, but to them, love is apparently a required component for long-term happiness.

Maybe your subordinate feels that taking up with a mortal provides him with something that he's otherwise lacking.

Doubtful. Unless what he is lacking is a liability and cause for social suicide. And a pain in my ass.

Hm. Do you require someone for an existing place somewhere, or could you be persuaded to move? I'd have nothing against a roommate the ticking is annoying, but I'm not sure I'd like to give up my residence. It's convenient.

I sleep in the basement of my business building, Fangtasia. There is living space below the building and there are apartments above. My chief concern is having more bodies around when I am sleeping during the day.

Being a nightclub, my business is only busy at night.

I'd like to remain underground, so it would be the basement for me. How much space is there? And how loud does it get down there at night?

With exceptions I usually do not go out during the day, though I'm not necessarily sleeping either. And only one being comes to my mind who I wouldn't be able to finish off, though if that one is after you, no army will help you anyway.

Hm, another question - are the ticking and this your only concerns or would you want me to pay a rent? I imgine, it being your business building, it's not needed and you do not need to buy anything for me. Because money is something I lack at the moment.

Incredibly loud. It doesn't affect me, as I don't tend to spend time relaxing during the night.

Money is something I would want out of the arrangement, unfortunately. I'm a businessman, not a charity runner.

The difference is that they are different. What I am talking about is a relationship between an immortal and a human. Werewolves need not apply.

The word non-human is insulting.
