just wondering

Sep 19, 2009 15:00

It's been a while since I wrote fanfiction and now a lot of it's gone. Maplebeanie's site on geocities is now no more. Even worse...my computer with a lot of the stories stored on it, went down 2 years ago. What to do? Does anyone have my stories saved anywhere? ::sigh::

The Wayback Machine at http://www.archive.org/index.php might have it.

I tried your suggestion but I guess her site is literally gone. Geocities is going down next month but I think she got the jump on it. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

You're welcome.

Mmmm.... Ok... last suggestion. Search for a string of words that you know to be in your fanfic. It's even better if you can do an exact search.

"the soda can fell down the hole"

Perhaps someone has mirrored it?

If not then just words that don't have a high probability of showing up. eg. Name of a character, place, another character.

Hope you find it! Hugs.

it's not much but I have a hard copy of 'So This Is Montana'...up to whatever your last update was...I can't believe her site is gone!

Do you have a way to contact Maplebeanie? She might have a copy from what you sent her. Or maybe there's a copy in your sent email folder?

I'll recheck but I don't think I was clever enough to save anything from her site.

Thanks. I think I've found a few who may have my stories on their computer. :)
Hey...are you still good to help me out with Montana? I've got the itch to finish. If you don't, that's fine. :)

I feel so bad for not getting back to it before. With Maplebeanie's site gone are you going to have to find a new place to post or just link it here?

I suppose you can start another basic journal to put them on, there are plenty of people who keep separate journals just for their fics. All my nsync fics are still in the memory section. I haven't even looked at any of them in ages.

So do you have the first part of Montana saved somewhere? Like I said, I have a hard copy of most of it and a couple of notes. Guess I'd better get reading if we're going to finish it before Sarah goes to college. *grin*

I'm so sorry I feel so bad leaving you hanging there for a while. But I fixed it now at least?
