So it's Lione weekend, in fact one i'm looking forward to. As per usual it's tough being torn between 2 characters... and even tougher to bring enough spell packets to cover all that karma and mana. After this event i'll have 3 level 10 characters (addicted much?)... scary since i havn't really blanketed narg at all in the last few years except on ( Read more... )

Similar problem but not as intense as yours. Twitch keeps butting into Serus plot- and I feel if Serus werent a knight of the silver kingdom itd be similar with phoenix stuff in tyrhaven (slash it was for the first year when the family was kicking around).
At CRO we have/had a 25% policy. That means either when you get bored of your character or when your character dies you get 25% exp. It makes people feel like they didnt lose as much and gives a little boost. 25% might not work at LIONE- since the xp is set differerntly (CRO blankets are constant values whereas LIONE blankers vary) so Im not suggesting that but its a neat idae.

The game is best played with 1 character. Part of teh suck about playing 2 different characters is that sometimes you have to answer sticky questions about "why werent you here" or watch as stuff thats important to your character happens without you.

So far I've been MOSTLY succesful with two- and its nice to be able to look forward to different aspects of the game. I was originally only gonna play one character but I got snagged up by two groups and couldnt say to either. Go figure Twitch's group completely fell apart and I thought the character was gonna blow before playign him so I really expected to only play Serus...yeah that didnt happen :)

Also forgot to add that I think making xp bonus based on gifts is a HORRIBLE idea. i think its unfair that a chracter that just runs around liek Twitch would get rewarded whereas a chracter like Serus gets penalized.

well as i said you need some sort of modifier, i was using gifts as an example cause it's lione specific. If you didn't factor in how many gifts a character had left then most high level characters would probably cash in for a new one at 1 gift. and then people would complain about that.

It might require some thought, perhaps as you said a straight % bonus.

In fact i might make it standard policy when a character dies or you decide to retire him you can take advantage of it. That way

1) new characters start off a little closer to your old one to make adjustment a little easier.

2) you dont have to monitor your gifts to maximize your new character's level.

3) reduces the curve when an high level pc bites it.
