I think this stems from too much information.

They are doing a wonderful job of telling people that IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONVERTER BOX YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OVER THE AIR SIGNAL.

However American's attention span is so small that even they cannot pay attention to the 30 seconds where they tell you about the conversion to digital signal. All they know is: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONVERTER BOX YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OVER THE AIR SIGNAL

Yet most of these people have cable already. I think its just a ploy by electronics companies to trick people into buying new televisions.

I honestly think they should have you know...blitzed areas with TV spots that have high concentrations of analog users...which I'm sure someone has that information to get the word out, kept the ads off cable systems (cuz if your watching it on cable you don't need to do anything) and limited the media blitz to 2 months before switch. But then again, this is the govt, they don't know how to deploy shit unless its a missle.

Hmm, I live in the sticks and I don't know anyone confused about this around here. If I tell someone they are fine, they believe me. Besides, we live in an area where if you don't live on a hill with a high antenna with a good rotator, you aren't going to get antenna TV anyway or if you do it's one channel in the path of least resistance to whichever city is within two hours ( ... )
