Belated bewilderment about 12x04: American Nightmare
1. It looks like we've come a long way from the bridge scene in "Pilot" (Sam: Mom's gone, and she isn't coming back") to Sam being the one reassuring Dean that yes, Mom is coming back.
2a. the next time they are together, I think they'd better take some new group photos of themselves, pronto.
2. This episode would have had more suspense for me if they hadn't cast someone who looks like Piper Laurie as religious-fanatic!mom.
3. What kind of workplace promotes people automatically based on the death of their predecessor? In my company, the underlings would inherit the work, of course, but not the job title or the office.I kept imagining the "Mirror, Mirror" Star Trek episode where Chekov cackled: "So you die, Captain, and we all move up in rank."
