Title: Bringing Religiosity To The Slimey-Wimeys
Author: The Maggie
Pairing: 194. Book (Firefly)/Sauron (Lord of the Rings)
Rating: G
Notes: Very, VERY short. It just kind of happened. I had a lot more OMGWTFGIANTEYEBALL references, but then I decided to go for the sublte approach.

"So I said to him, 'That's why I have to leave. Before it doesn't matter to me, either.'"

"Mmmm," Sauron murmured sympathetically, sipping his Earl Gray*.

Shepherd Book sighed and shook his head. "If I truly have faith, I should be able to hold to my principles no matter where I am. I suppose I'm just weak."

"Well," Sauron said, "I can’t say I’ve ever had the problem myself, but I do know what you mean."

"Really?" The preacher asked, looking up hopefully.

"Oh, yes. Only the other day an orc smiled in my presence and I completely failed to have him disemboweled." The floating eye pursed metaphorical lips and looked dejected. "Auntie Necro'kthe'vzz'wie would be so disappointed. But I just can’t seem to make the effort when I'm away from my fellow evil demonic beings."

Book nodded thoughtfully. "There’s hope for you yet, old boy."
