Question: Why would LJ want fanfiction?

Seems unlikely, but what about all the original fiction that's posted. For example, I posted almost the entirety of my NaNoWriMo novel on LJ. It looks like any creative work is in trouble.

And why would LJ want that? It's no commentary on your work, which I have not read, but who/what would they sell it to and who would buy it? It's obviously not theirs and it would be horrid publicity if they did and you said, "Wait, I wrote that!".

What seems more likely is if, for example, I got my novel published and then they came forward and said, "Wait, we own the rights to that, please to be sharing your monies."
