Fun with new SSD - OK, not yet
I physically installed the new SSD, and turned on the computer. It recognized the hardware. I started the cloning program from Intel (well, made by Acronis, but downloaded from Intel). It is unable to clone my C: drive to the new SSD, because the C: drive is a partition on a much larger disk, and the SSD is smaller than the complete C:+E: disk ( Read more... ) -

Zeroeth World problem
One of my shirts lost a button. And I can't decide whether to sew it back on or throw the shirt away. Both times I moved, I wish I had much fewer clothes, and shirts in particular are probably enough for 30-40 years without buying new. SSD temptation returns
My favorite computer shop has a sale on Intel SSDs, and the 80 GB SATA is rather affordable now. I wonder if I could replace my current C: drive on the gaming / writing computer with Windows XP. It currently has a 48.8 GB hard disk, so it would be no problem to move things over. Actually almost everything except the OS itself runs from the 1TB ( Read more... ) -

I am not even one Kindle-dot into Mortimer Adler's How to Read a Book, and I already find myself wanting to squeal with delight.
