I've written letters like this before to anonymous papers and weeklies and stuff like that online and everybody has heard this story. I almost feel retarded sending this, but hey what do I have to lose? I'm on lj, but I'd rather not give my username out. I'm a male, I'm 29, and I weigh 245 lbs. I've been fat since I was in 6th grade or so.

weight loss does NOT happen fast. You can't see it. If you keep bringing your sandwich every day, and walk a little bit more, you WILL be losing weight, but in tiny little fractions of pounds. THEY ADD UP. But you have to keep doing those little steps for weeks. Don't think about it like that, though, think about it as little steps you can do once a day. Let it all add up, yo.

You know, I read somewhere once that if blindfolded, the average American will only eat about half of whatever is on their plate, regardless of how hungry they swear they are before eating. The stomach gets full, tells the brain to stop chowing down, and you're not tempted to gorge by still seeing food on the plate. Just a thought.
