Hanukkah (Jon/Stephen)

Jon was working when he heard his door open. He glanced up at his clock, shocked to see just how late it was. If he could finish this last bit he was working on, he would be perfect.

“Jon...”

“Yeah, I know it's late”, Jon said without looking up from his work.

“Jon.”

“Yeah, I know I should go home but I'm so close to wrapping up this segment”, Jon said while making a few notes to the script.

“Jon! Do you know what tonight is?”

“Sunday night? Which reminds me, what are you doing here?” Jon looked up at Stephen and his mouth fell open. “You didn't Stephen, you didn't. What is that?”

“It's a candle,” Stephen said with a slight smirk on his face. Stephen was holding two candles and a menorah. He walked slowly over to Jon's desk and put the menorah down, and then places one of the candles in one of the ends. Stephen then took a lighter out of his pocket and shoved it in Jon's face. “You light it,” he whispered gently.

Jon took the lighter and the other candle. “You even got a shamash?” he asked bewildered as he flicked open the lighter and the candle's wick burst into life. Stephen shrugged and gestured towards the menorah. Jon held the candle and carefully lit the menorah's candle. They both watched the flame dance and without either of them noticing, Stephen had inched behind Jon. Jon turned his chair and waited for an explanation.

“It's the first night of Hanukkah. I thought you would want to light the first candle,” Stephen said as he leaned forward and rested his head on Jon's. Maybe it was the light from the candle but Stephen's cheeks were glowing a faint pink.

“I'd like to light your candle,” Jon said as he started to close the gap between them, “Let's get out of here.”

Stephen smiled and pressed his lips lightly to Jon's. He pulled back and waggled his eyebrows, pulling Jon out of his chair. “Happy Hanukkah, Jon!”

“Happy Hanukkah, Stephen. Now let's go home and I can show you how we not-so-properly celebrate Hanukkah in the bedroom,” Jon said with a light smack to Stephen's ass as the two of them headed out the door.

“Hanukkah lasts eight nights, right Jon?” Stephen asked, turning to look at Jon with a devious glint in his eyes. Jon could only nod. Sure, Hanukkah wasn't as fun as Christmas, but Jon was sure they could make the best of it.
