Yeah, do defend your ideas in the directors forum, as I really should have done that way more. However, acknowledge when something goes wrong or that the adjudicators have a good idea, and say that would incorporate given another shot. If they criticize something that you do on purpose, though, explain it fully; they talked to the Winners directors about how they wanted characters in the narrators on the sides, and the directors said that the script called for neutral bystanders, and the adjudicators accepted that, so make sure that your intentions are clear. Basically, just make it seem like you are open to ideas and will use them given a chance to go on (so that they feel like you actually will deserve another chance
