I agree.

Despite the good cause, who wants to feel awkward, shy, and uncomfortable for an evening?

An evening with my pet rat would be more enjoyable.

Aw c'mon. I'm doing it. It might not be...all that bad? Sounds like a good way to meet people (or person, but anyway). It's just spending a night together--hanging out. Not necessarily "Love Connection". You just might have a good time. If not, well then I'll just have to make it up to you. I'll...hmm...I'll...buy you all the apples and string cheese you want for a full month. Or if you can think of anything better than that.

It's one thing if you know the person....but I'd have to say in my case I probably won't know the person! But that's okay...I haven't entered my name into the lottery, and to my knowledge no one has "nominated" me either. (Don't get any funny ideas!)

Hmmm! Free apples & string cheese, huh?

I was hoping you'd say that.

Usually you're so intent on forcing me to include myself in your hospital fund charity things. This is funny.

People might think twice about participating, if they knew there was a chance they'll spend an evening in you jolly company.

But the charity is open to donations, so there's still ample opportunity to do something good.
