Tonight.....

I really do feel Johnny was under scored big time. He did better then the guy(can't remember his name at the moment cause I am very upset) who lace broke and had to stop but yet Johnny got a lower score. So debate time again. We all know its a good chance this is his last competition as a professional figure skater. So what did you guys think about ( Read more... )

No he actually did better than shoelace guy (Odo), but two of the guys ahead of him messed up their jumps. I don't know a lot about skating so maybe I have no idea, but that makes no sense at all to me. He deserved bronze. Ugh.

For me it was less about if he metal or not and more of the obvious lack of fair scoring. bronze, silver or gold... dont really care... treating Johnny fairly. That is what really matters and they didn't do that tonight...at least in my eyes.

Yeah, I agree with you on that also.. :( It's incredibly frustrating. I think some people are turned off by his personality... which is what I like best about him so go figure. I'm kind of a new fan so don't mind me. XD

Love your icon btw!

Mreh. :/ He definitely beat both Patrick (the one with the lace problem) and Stéphane on jumping ability, but I still don't trust myself to score things like transitions. I don't know. :( I really did think he was in medal contention, though, and it stunned me when he not only WASN'T, but ended up in 6th...

Patrick didn't have a lace problem. He fell and stepped out on some jumps. Nobunari had the lace problem. But definitely agree he beat both Lambiel and Chan... urgh.

*facepalm* I swear I knew that. Wtf, self. But yeah--really confused, here. I'm hoping someone on my flist who gets scoring can explain to me what just happened. :|

I'm not entirely sure, but I know the spin bobble hurt him... I think the biggest issue might have been his flip... I think they've been consistently downgrading him on it for a while for edge problems, and if I'm not mistaken, it lost him 2 points?

I want to know what program those goddam mildewed donkeys were watching. Even Daisuke Takahashi, crying and clinging to his goddam teddy bear knew that Johnny was medal-worthy... or at least worthy of a top five finish. I am so angry. SO ANGRY. But, you know what? Johnny skated beautifully, and showed that he can be himself AND a top-notch athlete... He accepted his scores gracefully and without complaint, and that's what makes a true man, imo.

Yeah, that's what baffles me. Daisuke clearly looked worried that Johnny might surpass him after he saw Johnny's performance, so it's even more baffling that he was placed so far back.

And the way he accepted the scores was so classy....the entire stadium was booing the decision and he was gracefully telling them to sit down. And I think I saw his mom telling people in the audience to shh as well.

Does anyone know who decides who gets to skate in the champions gala? Is it only medalists or do they let others go as well? I'm so disappointed right now but if they let him do Poker Face or something for an Olympic audience it'll be SLIGHTLY better.

I wish he did do poker face.
He would went out with a bang! Even tho I have a feeling it would have hurt him even more. It would have had the entire audience on their feet!

I am so frustrated! I was yelling at my TV when I saw his scores. I don't even care about the top three, I'm just completely mystified how Lambiel, who didn't have any (I think) triples at all, fell at least twice, and whose program just generally tanked tonight got fourth while Johnny got sixth with triples, a small bobble on the spin, and the most emotion out of anyone!? I'm a new fan to both skating and Johnny, but that certainly seems like something is wrong ( ... )

I don't think Stephane fell. His hand touched the ice, but he didn't fall. I agree, though. Stephane's program was probably the worst I've seen it all season. (Usually he skates so well you forget about his mistakes because he's just that beautiful...)

Oh, right! I think I heard it was Patrick Chan who fell twice. I just gave up trying to remember who fell and who stepped out.

And I agree, I think Lambiel made some mistake in short program or had a bobble, but I didn't care, his program was great.

Overall the night was...not what I was expecting, and I was blown away that Johnny was under people who had not skated well at all.
