Claire would have pulled the trigger, shot him in the stomach and it all would have been over. He would have bled out, steady and slow, and there would have been a sufficient amount of pain. That is before Sylar arrived, however, and now? Now she's more than willing to let him take the reins. Sylar has had more practice at this. He'll still make sure it hurts the way it's supposed to.

She watches as his hand shatters under the skin, listens to him scream, and there's a large part of her than enjoys it. He deserves it, for the people's killed and the families that are left behind. He deserves it for what he did to their family.

But then she looks at Sylar, expecting to see the same anger and grief she is feeling, but when she sees nothing at all, something in her freezes. He isn't relishing the kill here, but he isn't angry about it either. There's something wrong there, and she's moving towards him, reaching a hand out for his shoulder.

"Sylar ... "

"This isn't ... "

She's not entirely sure how to put this into words, but she knows this isn't right. She wants him dead, of course, but she didn't sign up for torture. They're above that now, or at least they're supposed to be. They're supposed to be heroes, and this isn't heroic.

It's a ridiculous notion to entertain now, of all times, when the one who tried to imbue that notion of them is gone and not coming back. But there's something about this situation that just rings as wrong, and she needs to stop him before this goes any further.

"This isn't what he would have wanted."
