"So we might have a slight problem."  Claire announced as she slipped past Archie when he let her into the back door.  She was currently carrying two grocery bags filled with food that she had picked up so they could make something for dinner.  Walking into his kitchen, she set them on the counter before turning to face him with a neutral look

Archie looked up at Claire from where he'd been feeding Pongo. "What gave it away?" He asked her with a wry smile. "The fact we keep buying groceries for two? Marco also commented on it today." He'd had lunch with his old friend, who had noted that Archie rarely had time for meals with his best friend anymore, then slyly told his friend he was happy for him.

"I think they might have guessed." What that meant Archie had no idea. He still hadn't told Claire the truth, just that he was happy.

Amusement flickered across her features as he pointed out their grocery shopping habit, causing her to glance at the bags on the counter and then back at him again. "Okay, you have me there."

Moving over to him with a chuckle, she slid her arms around his waist while tipping her head back to look up at him. "I guess we weren't really as sneaky as we should have been." Honestly though, she had to wonder how hard they had actually tried.

After so many weeks, Archie was beginning to accept that no matter how wrong he thought he was for Claire, she was happy with him, and that he should let go of that worry. They were still taking things very slow, but it was getting harder and harder to leave it at kissing her.

His arms went around Claire's shoulders as he looked at her. "I guess we weren't all hat sneaky at all." He jus hoped it didn't make her a target for Regina.

Claire knew there were still times when he didn't believe that he was good enough for her but they were making progress. Having grown up in an affectionate household, she got him used to the easy touches and hugs as well as the kisses. Though, honestly, she didn't know how much longer just kissing would work. They seemed to push the line further and further every time till she wondered if it was possible to spontaneously combust from all the build up but no real release.

"Are you okay with people finding out?" She asked him softly, her fingers drifting slowly across the small of his back in lazy patterns.
