ROFL i got hung up on by a customer service rep at sallie mae! the saga just gets better and better. it was 10am, i'm sick (fucking pollen explosion in savannah) and was cool calm collected all the way through because i just don't feel like being otherwise, but when i tried to dig deeper into exactly what the forebearance policies are, this woman ( Read more... )

My advice? Ask a law firm what rights you have. In some states, if you can prove that you made effort to pay them and the group refused (collection agencies, not sallie mae), it can get ruled in your favor and you may not have to pay. Also it is to your benefit that collection agencies purchase loan balances for a tenth of their value.

lol call laywer services is actually in my planner. my mother pays for some laywer thing, so i plan on making use of it.

as for collections agencies. i rather my loans not reach that point, because my mother is my co-signer. my mother has had her fair share of financial ups and downs as a single mom, even had to file for bankruptcy many years ago. i'm sure she wouldn't appreciate that.
