So the officer(s) said a really stupid comment, suggesting that if women didn't dress like sluts then certain crimes (ie rape) could potentially be avoided. This is stupid because it is the women/men who are committing the crime who need to learn how to control themselves/get help/not be rapists.

Please note I include women in there, because women can totally be rapists just like they have the smarts to be doctors.

The demonstration was a "screw you" to the officers (and pretty much anyone else) who felt the comments had a foundation to stand on. Honestly, it wasn't so much about educating the population but rather giving the people who deal with harassment a chance to say "f you guys. Ima dress like this if I want to."

Now, Idk if it worked or not. But there you have it in general terms.

It was one officer, and he later apologized. Even the police as an organization said that the officer's behaviour was unacceptable and that it goes against how they are trained.

So why are they still saying "screw you" even after the police agreed that what the officer said was wrong?

If it were a slutwalk just to say "f you guys. Ima dress like this if I want to," I'd be cool with it.
