[Nephry woke just a few moments after her husband did, and listened to him find a new shirt for himself, then disappear out of the room. When she rolled over, his side of the bed was rumpled and damp.

Getting up and putting on her glasses and a robe, she follows him quietly into the kitchen, seeing him in that chair. Without saying anything, she stands behind him and puts her hands gently on his shoulders.]

[Dist jumps a little bit, his head filled with thoughts and horrendous visions of large, mechanical robots, people screaming in terror, as the land seemed to be sinking in on itself. And he...he was laughing. Laughing like he enjoyed it. It was difficult to notice Nephry until after she snaps him out of his thoughts. Once she does, however, Dist sighs and places his hands over hers, leaning back heavily.

He has nothing to say. What could he say? That he's a murderer? A maniac? That he slaughtered helpless people left and right? That he participated in created people for the sole purpose or resurrecting the dead? That their very son was supposedly on of them? No...he had absolutely no words to say right now.]

[No matter what he says, they're just dreams, probably a shift, and they aren't who he is any more than any other dreams he's had. Nephry leans down and kisses the top of his head, massaging his shoulders just a little]

[The silence between them is thick, almost tangible, but Nephey's soothing touches, and her presence alone was enough to calm him down. Dist opens the eyes he closed previously, looking up at his wife tiredly. He was still tired, but Dist was pretty sure he would never be able to sleep after what he had seen. He's not entirely sure he wants to.]

...I'm sorry I woke you, Nephry.

[Sometime after Dist talks to Nephry, he'll hear the sound of a bedroom door creaking open. But this time, Nephry isn't the one following him out into the kitchen. Instead, the one standing timidly at the hallway entrance with eyes red from crying was Ion.]

[Ion hadn't expected anyone to be awake at this hour, but seeing his father was not an unwelcome sight. He shrinks back for only a second before talking a step forward.]

D... Dis... [A pause. No, what name was he trying to say? His tongue must have slipped.]

D-Daddy?

[By now, Dist had brewed himself some strong coffee, still rather haggard looking even after talking to his wife. He just couldn't shake that nightmare. Everything seemed so real, so horrible...so unlike him. Sure he wasn't much of a people person, but he wouldn't go around killing them left and right just to bring back the dead. That was just insanity!

And then Ion... Dist freezes when he hears his name, hushed and soft, and looks up to see his son. Ion...his precious boy. Dist manages a weak smile, not wanting to worry his boy, but it fades when he notes just how bad his son looked.]

...Ion? My boy, what's the matter? [He's going to approach, slowly. Why is his heart beating so fast just as the sight of Ion?] ...You've had a nightmare, haven't you?

[Ion nods to Dist's question, but when he starts approaching him, for a brief moment, Ion seems to flinch and take a step back, his eyes growing wide.]

[In his dreams, the same man standing in front of him had been the one to attack him and his friends constantly. He kidnapped him, killed innocent people, and even freed the man responsible for Ion's death.]

[But that was just a dream, right?]

[His father would never do such terrible things. Never. Once that moment passes, Ion walks forward and wraps his arms tightly around his father, pulling him into a much needed hug.]

[Dist halts the moment he sees Ion wince and back away like that. Was...was he still dreaming? Something cold and heavy falls into the pit of Dist's stomach and he swallows hard. Seeing Ion move away pained him more than he wanted to admit, though some part of him was not surprised. Based on what transpire in his dreams, Dist wouldn't blame anyone from avoiding him. In fact, many people did.

What had they called him? Dist the Reaper.]
