Abandoned Warehouse District, Sunday Afternoon

Mar 11, 2012 13:33

This weekend had started off normal. Different from her usual self, not that she knew that, sure, but -- normal, at least, in that no one was chasing her or trying to invade her privacy.

Shatner had done his best to get away from all of the telepaths in the dorms. How could there be a building with nothing but telepaths? It was improbable and terrifying!

And that's why he found himself in the abandoned warehouse district, far away from anyone else... or so he thought.

"Is somebody singing?" Shatner asked. He had no additional thoughts on the matter.

"If you only knew what I talked about
When I'm with my friends just hanging out--"

Wait. A person. Could it be a reporter? Or did the squirrels talk? Experimentally, Miley craned her neck around the building she was hiding behind.

Oh. It was a guy, all right.

Could she trust him? Or would he just take pictures of her and sell them to whatever tabloid would have them?

Then again, he looked young and innocent. Maybe he could be trusted.

"Hey," she said, taking a few steps away from the building in Shatner's direction.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone to be here," Shatner said. "Play it cool, maybe she's hiding too."

"Shhhh," Miley hissed, reaching to try to tug him behind a building. "The squirrels are everywhere. Are they looking for you too?"

In the skies above the warehouse district, a gleeful "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" could be heard as Flyclops zoomed through the air with red eye-punches streaming into his umbrella.

Seconds later, he was across town.

Karla had helpfully pointed Wally in the direction of the abandoned warehouse district yesterday, and now the Flash was patrolling.

And you didn't need to be a superhero to figure out that a girl ducking through warehouses was probably either up to something or avoiding something. He sped up to her. "Need a hand, miss?"

Miley eyed him cautiously. "Are you with them?" she asked in hushed tones.

"Depends who them are." Seriously, did no one here recognise a member of the Justice League when they saw one?

"The reporters!" she hissed. "They're after me!"
