[What is this - Masaomi actually comes in right alongside (or well, a few seconds after, really) Katara Masaomi rushes in too. Far from any sort of rushing to him or anything, his eyes narrow. He pauses, surveying the room around him. Where's Chouji? Where's... other people? Shikamaru was taken, Katara said that but-]
...She meant today?

[ She was out earlier today, and much of the days before it. She's a scout/tracker in an unfamiliar place, it's not that strange. What is strange though is coming back to her apartment and finding a note saying Shino's been missing. Because she didn't even know, but maybe if she had spent less time exploring and mapping out everything...
And then hearing that recording of Shikamaru's kidnapping. Because even that is a bit out of the norm.
But, yeah, she'll be checking up on Chouji as well later. Along with heading over to Shino's apartment to at least make sure his door's locked again and everything is in place. Because it's all she can do at this point aside from worry and hope nothing else goes wrong. ]
[ Well. If there's one thing Chouji knows he's good at, it's Shikamaru-reading: and this incident is not an exception when he comes across it later in the day.
You're the only guy he knows who would make a random abduction part of the plan.
And... he can't say there isn't a little bit of relief in knowing Shikamaru didn't get himself hurt trying to fight them off, if he thinks about it. It leaves him room to skip straight to worrying about how he'll be when he gets brought back.
(not to mention the space the Malnosso have finally managed to make for themselves on Chouji's short list of people who are unforgivable beyond all reason and compromise.)
He'll just be keeping a close eye on the journals for your return when he's not sleeping through things, buddy. ]

... And don't come back in pieces. She'd hate to have to do something like worry over your sorry ass.]

[She glances around before settling down next to him, streaming water out of her waterskin as she goes.]
