Tonight I saw an advanced screening of Brokeback Mountain for the DC area.  All I can say is, buy your tickets now.  But don't expect a movie with a roller-coaster ride of emotions.  The movie is about wistful longing and repression, and it's one that just builds without any true catharsis.  At the end of the film, I was more angry than anything ( Read more... )

We have to wait until the 26th of January before we can see the movie.

I've been worried about how sad it's going to be.

Awwww. I am now a blubbering sobbing fool.

I'd rather be a blubbering sobbing fool in my own home than in the cinema. Nothing I hate more than crying in public.

I've kind of been anticipating this movie's release date for a long time. When the chance came to see it, I had to pounce on it.

It's weird, but I still think about it everyday - it actually parallels a story of mine from college which I might post later.

Dear Mr. Henshaw by Beverly Cleary. I don't why I love it so much - maybe because it was a very "adult" book (dealing with divorce and such) for its time.

From what I hear, the dialogue is taken straight from the book. I read in an interview that Annie Proulx herself said that watching the movie was painful for her because it was such a great adaptation, it was difficult for her to relive the characters again.
