I bought this bratwurst that they called a "big horn hot dog" or something. So I was trying to figure out how they got the name exactly. We decided it was because it looked like mountain goat horns.

Sounds like you had a blast. Soo......while you were there, did you find any good little holes in the wall to eat for cheap? A little bird told me it costs $300 a week to keep yourself fed. Yikes. Furthermore, what classes did you take?

300 a week will do you just fine. that will cover food and a little extra actually. I budgeted 400 a week and Im running a budget surplus now, so 300 sounds about right. There are little holes in the wall all over. I would make friends with 7/11 sushi and the grocery store though. That would save you a bit of cash. Plus Wendys and Micky D's is always cheap too. You just have to be creative. You should budget for train and bus transportation too, which i would say is about 2000 Y a week is you are just going to and from school. More if you go to other parts of Tokyo. Bring clothespins too. The dryers in TUJ house suck balls, so yu have to line dry them, and the clothespins here are crap.
