I had a revelation last night

That partying isn't really all that great. First of all, beer sucks. Have you guys ever tried that stuff? It tastes awful! I don't know how people can drink so much of it. I've been to a total of three parties while I've been here. Friday night (a toga party) was actually a lot of fun, I enjoyed myself there. But last night was no fun at all ( Read more... )

AMEN! BEER IS GROSS!

And I understand about being quiet. I mean, I couldn't remember the last time I had been shy and quiet until I got to college. But I think if you like your hair, you should keep it that way. It's up to you, but...yeah.

And Greg and I were always close. I talk to him for a long time on the phone now, but I think it's just that before I talked to him at home, so now we have to make up for that. Either way I love your sister and trust that you'll be nice to her. :)

It really all depends on the beer. Anything with the word "light/lite" in it is definitely gross. I've grown quite fond of Bacardi and Corona tho. As far as partying goes, I've realized that it would probably be something I enjoyed more if I knew more people and was in a more comfortable environment. I've realized that the highlights of my social interaction at parties take place when either I'm drunk or the person I'm conversing with is drunk. As a whole I kinda like the party scene at least with the theatre department here. Problem is, although I've met a lot of the department, they still just know me as some awkward freshman. Yea, the other night I went to a party and only had two beers the whole night cuz I had to get up early to meet my parents for a tailgate party as part Parents Weekend (By early I mean 10am). Needless to say, I stayed sober the whole night and realized that for the most part, partying is really only fun when drunk.

My experience has been that the big parties have no draw (for me at least) and I can't forsee them being amusing unless drunk
small parties among a few friends, definintly more fun, and on even more on the plus side, you can get drinks that aren't beer (I'm with you on the beer thing, I've never much liked it *slaps hand* bad german)
You'll find your niche, and chances are you'll do it faster than I did (took me my whole freshman year to start looking for it)
anywho best of luck with classes etc
seeing as Monica isn't JMU anymore it's unlikly I'll be up, but if I do go up I'll let you know
