College football, from a foreigner's perspective

I found this whilst perusing the BBC website. It's an editorial, of sorts, trying to explain the whole concept of college football rivalries and huge attendance, to British people, from the perspective of a British person. I do believe so, because physical contact is a big draw for many people. Which is why sports such as boxing, rugby, hockey, and wrestling exist. People who enjoy it enough and know that people enjoy it will pay for entertainment that they know will pay it back and more.

That is very interesting to think about. However, American sports cannot rival soccer in European countries as far as rivalries, passionate fans, and craziness go. In that sense I find the article quite ironic. But I guess the idea of that type of environment in a college atmosphere would crazy to them. The idea of it being on television must be extremely strange. I just find it strange that people my own age and a little older get national exposure like that on ESPN and such. It's kinda weird to think about.
