This is where her information will be until I can make her a pretty profile.
Character Name: Ayako Matsuzaki
Character Series: Ghost Hunt
Character Age: 23
Background:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Hunt_(light_novel)
Personality: Ayako looks like a calm, respectable adult when she first introduces herself. She is usually polite, but she is also not one to mince words. She will say what needs to be said, when it needs to be said. This can be a good thing, but it can also be bad: several times in canon she has made people angry by calling them out on their lies, and at least once it’s nearly gotten her hurt. However, she isn’t a completely tactless person either. When a friend needs a shoulder to cry on, she’s there to listen and reassure them.
She is only a young adult, but Ayako already acts very responsible. She has followed in her parent’s footsteps and become a doctor, and she’s also a Shinto priestess. She is very good at taking care of others, be they patients at her parent’s hospital or people seeking spiritual guidance. However, Ayako isn’t your typical priestess. She practices it in her spare time, rather than living at a shrine full-time, and many of her methods are unconventional. This doesn’t impede her too much, though, and she’s still able to produce results. She can ward off spirits in canon, and her skill is enough that it impresses the others in the group of ghost hunters. So, even though she’s an unconventional Shinto priestess, she still has skill.
She’s also a very intelligent woman. She’s studied a lot to become a doctor, and while she’s not an expert at everything she does have quite a wide pool of basic knowledge. She also has a lot of practical knowledge about the world, too. She’s very talented at seeing through BS and getting right to the point, and she has quite a bit of common sense. If you want an honest and (usually) accurate opinion of someone, then Ayako is your person to go to.
But Ayako isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. She has some pretty big flaws. One of these flaws is her temper. She can keep her cool in most situations, but there’s more than a handful of things that are touchy subjects to her (like her age. Anyone who even insinuates that she’s ‘old’ by any means better run for the hills), and if anyone comments on them then she will get upset. She’s not a violent person, usually, but she does yell a lot when she’s mad, and it clouds her mind and she starts making mistakes in her judgments and readings of people. She can also be very flippant when she’s annoyed, which isn’t so good since it makes it easy to tell that she’s not happy about something.
Ayako is also a very, VERY proud person. She takes pride in her skills, and she gets very annoyed when her prayers aren’t enough to solve a case. She also hates being proved wrong in conversation, and that’s one of the ways to get her riled up very quickly. She’s also a bit sensitive about her status as a priestess and the connotations that go with it. For example, one time she got very upset at someone saying “you look a little old to be a pure virgin,” since priestesses are supposed to be virgins. Basically any attacks on her pride or her personal being are taken seriously, and she will be very short with that person until they apologize and make up for what they said.
It’s also worth noting that Ayako has a thing for handsome (usually older, though she does make an exception for mature teens) men. She doesn’t go ga-ga over them, but she does have a tendency to flirt with them and try to get a date if she can. In a very serious situation she will stay focused on her work, but if the situation is lax then she’s been known to skip out on paperwork or other boring duties to flirt with a cute guy.
Abilities: Ayako is a Shinto priestess, and in her world that means she can ward against and exorcise ghosts. She also can talk to the spirits of trees and use their powers to strengthen her own.
