01: This isn't her home.

[So she wakes up really, really early, which is pretty normal for her actually. She's actually wondering why her alarm didn't go off, as she set it very early so she could get up and go check on the others. But that actually goes out of her mind very quickly, as she realizes something else very, very important: someone is clinging to her back and ( Read more... )

[Heat leech or not, Ayako values her personal space thank you very much. Plus she might be acting a bit more violent than normal because she thinks Denmark is someone who he really isn't. But when she hears his voice, she realizes that he sounds nothing like the person she thought he was, and she blinks a few times.]

Wait, what?

[Then she sets the phone receiver down on the table, and she leans over the other side of the bed to see just who she kicked out of bed. Since it's like six in the morning it's probably still dark out, but she can at least tell that he's not who she thinks he is.

And this is a bad thing. Why are strangers in her bed? Her eyes narrow.]

Who are you, and what are you doing in my room?

[It probably would be funnier to her if she weren't so worked up over her current situation. And Ayako, being the bastion of reason and calmness she is, reacts to Denmark's words in a calm, ladylike fashion.]

YOUR bed- Listen, you, I would never try to get into ANYEONE'S bed, let alone yours! And besides, this is MY room! If this is some kind of joke, then it's not funny at all!

You just got here, didn't you? You have no idea what's going on.

[Well this doesn't sound like one of the friendly nurses. She hasn't quite realized that she's not at the hospital yet.]

No, I've been here for a few days now. Just who is this? You don't sound like a nurse.

I'm not a nurse. You're in a house, not a hospital, and the person in your room is probably either your new husband or one of your new children.

Welcome to Mayfield.

[There is a long, long pause. And then, finally.]

So I somehow managed to dial up to the psych ward and you escaped and are playing with the phones. Lovely.

...if he's a drone, he isn't likely to go anywhere.

[Looking over the side of the bed again before responding.]

Do drones curse and kick around?

...no.

Wait. Did you just get here?

I've been at the hospital for a few days now, so no. Unless this place isn't the hospital after all.

[Olivier cringes at the sounds; fortunately she's been up since 5 AM, and was sleeping on the couch.] Oi. This isn't any front desk. Try redialing.

Right, sorry. I must have misdialed.

[Except when she does enter the proper phone number, it still goes back to all phones, because pressing '9' does that.]

Hmph. [HANG UP.]

[And by that time, Olivier is in the bedroom, scolding her annoying forced-husband. Feel free to overhear all that, too. XD]

That is most likely the husband they've assigned to you.

I find it difficult to believe that anyone can assign a husband. This is 2007, not the Dark Ages.

The circumstances of this town are not normal for any time or place. Upon arrival here we were all assigned a role in a family.

Really.

I guess that would explain the insane man in my bed, then.
