After the initial shock I'm convinced that it was just editing to heighten teenage drama and that when she says 'i'm pregnant' is when she's in the women's clinic posing or pretending for something to do with a case!

I think it's editing too! You're right; Veronica is not that dumb, and if they make it really happen, they will totally be messing with her character and that will not be cool. I hate how they always twist things in the promos! I don't decide to watch shows just because a promo seems interesting or drama-filled...or maybe that's just me.
