the biggest myth about me is that i hate manticore. i don’t. without manticore i wouldn’t be alive. i wouldn’t have a family and did i mention i wouldn’t be alive? because i wouldn’t be. i wouldn’t even be a thought because it’s not like i was someone’s actual kid.
so even though me and them ain’t exactly on the same page, i don’t hate ‘em. i got maxie and sammy and zack outta the deal. i got ben and krit and syl and a chance for a real life once we jumped. (and i’m never apologizing for that so don’t expect me to, it’s not happening. ever. and if you ask me to i will hurt you. violently. that saved my life so shut the hell up about it.)
manticore? shitty place to grow up, but it could have been worse. it always could have been worse. i can’t look at fences without gettin’ twitchy anymore, but that’s the thing with freedom. it ain’t exactly free.
