Of course, I have a gold badge, and would have a double-gold if they hadn't decided that I was no longer good enough to donate....

I've heard that just after giving blood is a very good time to have a cigarette. Not that I've ever done either...

I haven't noticed any particular advantage to having a cigarette after giving blood - I would imagine it's only a good time if you like being really light-headed.

For maximum effect you need to eschew the cup of tea and biscuit, and run to a pub, where you down a guiness and chain-smoke for a bit.

Great fun. Apart from the falling over.
