Dispatches!

Saturday - Picked up some new shoes from the post office. Bought them on eBay while I was over in Canada and they had arrived by the time I got home. A brand new pair of smart size nine slingbacks for £20. Not bad eh?

Sunday - Tried a new hair colour today (still red), but it's come out a lot darker than I was expecting. I'll probably go back to ( Read more... )

There is an actual word "stoater"? A very small number of people I know just use it to mean "impressive" -- that's a stoater!

Yup, it's an actual word (well according to the OED it is). Since they have it as meaning a large stake (and that being a relative term, basically a stake for a bet that's a large amount of money to the person betting it) I can see why it also means impressive. How the word came into being at all, I don't know.

The Walk-In Backrub place in Neal's Yard is really good. They all know their stuff when it comes to breaking down concrete shoulders. It costs £27 for half an hour (through clothes), and if you ask them they will concentrate on the worst bits rather than do a generic massage.

But their branch in Selfridges is of variable quality.
