And Hurley arrived at Hoshi's door, dressed up nicely and with an arm full of roses. Bought with his own money, not the lottery money. That was now entirely in the hands of his parents, where it was safe.

He knocked, really looking forward to this, just to share a nice evening with Hoshi.

Hoshi opened the door and grinned. "Hurley! Wow, are those roses for me?' she asked, tugging self-consciously on her apron. "And you look good! Though now you're making me wish I had dressed up a little more, but I was really distracted with making dinner."

"Hey, it's okay," Hurley said, giving her a smile. "I had to wear, like, the same five shirts for three months so I kinda like dressing up when I can."

He held out the roses. "They're definitely for you. I was thinking of one for each day I was missing, but then I couldn't carry all of them."

"They're so beautiful! And you brought just the perfect amount. I would have felt sad if you brought more and I didn't have vase large enough," said Hoshi, grinning as she took the roses. "Come in and make yourself comfortable while I put these in some water. Dinner is just about ready."
