With the Fall season update come the Halloween event and of course the Halloween items.
Halloween is a seaon of spookiness and as a fan of horror and the supernatural, the occult and myths, I was obviously pumped up for it. I have not touched Animal Crossing New Horizons for several weeks but upon seeing the preview of the Halloween update, I just had to tune back in.
Animal Crossing lets you grow pumpkins of different colors now. You can use the pumpkins to create Halloween items upon finding the recipes. From creepy-cute lanterns to a chic-cute fence, pumpkin season friends aren't coming too short here. You can also buy candy at the Nooks's cranny now, either to use for recipes or to give them away on Halloween. Unfortunately, you can only buy one candy per day. If you need more, you can only time travel or buy the candy off a friend's island.
Additionally, there is a new variety of spooky clothes you can scare your villagers with on the Big Day itself. You can also exchange miles to get new skin colors and eye colors to level up on your horror costume. There are many possibilities to be a chic spooky icon so I find myself changing the outfit of my character every day, my favorite outfit being the magical girl clothes. I just wish there were also new hair styles.
Once you have collected everything you want and decorated your island in preparation for the event though, it gets repetetive again. Within a few days I already gathered a good lot of things and revamped my island. Now I can only wait for October 31 now to participate in a night of sweets and pranks. And once that is done, it's time to abandon the game again until Christmas.
