Perhaps it's the stress that doesn't make David recognize the man sitting in the store, quietly going over his laptop and files. To be fair, Victor doesn't realize the other man is in the shop until he notices a jump of agitation around him. In fact he feels the 'knowledge' of the spike but the emotional impact of the spike doesn't effect him. But it seems to affect everyone else in the Starbucks. He looks up to see David and makes a quick decision. A wave of relaxing pheromones hit the room in hopes of neutralizing it before Victor speaks up, "David? Is that you?"

He didn't like using the powers, but a lot of people were probably getting the projection.

David actually jumps. He's way too stressed and overtired to have noticed Victor, either by sound or telepathy. Now that he does, he makes a sharp turn and heads over to Victor. Without waiting for permission, he takes the seat across from him. "You did that?"
