If it's cool with you, I think it would have made sense for Phillip and Patrick to be pretty good friends. At the very least work friends, but I think they would have gotten along pretty well. Patrick's inherently a family man, currently without a family, and while Phillip would've been a bit older than him, I think they would have had a lot in common.

So, Patrick's still a bit in mourning about the loss of his friend, and of course more than a bit wary and unsure about this new guy, nephew of Phillip or not.

Oh, that's totally cool with me. :D I was kind of hoping there would be some tension with someone on the team because they knew and liked Phillip and David's... nothing like Phillip.

Yeah, sounds good! Patrick's lost too many people in his life already, so Phillip's unexpected death on top of that has sort of thrown him into a MOOD. Especially since he knows Phillip could have at least told him. >(

David will be sure not to mention Phillip kind of hinted to him last time they spoke, then. Not any specific time, just "This is my last birthday, I'll try to see you again." (This attempted meeting never happened.)
