I've been illegally downloading a lot lately* and it's really pissing me off when people don't tell me it's something other than an .mp3 in that zip file, there. Not everyone has an iPod. (Not everyone wants an iPod.)

What medium are you using to get your music? If you are using torrents, what website?

There are a few, actually. I don't do torrents for anything but applications or the occasional missed TV show, but for those I use demonoid.com, torrentspy.com, or good old isohunt.

As far as music goes, there are a few LJ communities that upload songs to spendspace or rapidshare, but my favorite is ljmixtape.

I used to use Ares, but it's really not worth the hassle in my opinion.

I've never used rapidshare and never heard of spendspace.

Depending on what kind of music you are looking for soulseek may end up being your best bet.

The software tells you ahead of time what format you are downloading in. I have never heard of anyone getting a virus through it either. here is a link if you need it
