Olivia, I swear to you. I had an insane obsession with this bit of celeb scandal today. I probably spent like 3 hours on the internet, reading about it and chatting about it and laughing my ass off. I was desperately trying to get my icon to be the little gif of her doing the jig but, I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I had to settle for the pic of ashlee and jude looking totally stupified.

i loved venice too... the weird thing about touring europe is that sometimes i found myself suspecting myself of enjoying everything as if it's some "epcot center" or something (like you said a post or two back re: baudrillard). but if that is where your pleasure begins than whatever. everything starts somewhere. plus, you've got years of being a well-informed, art savvy adult influencing shit as well. venice is a total storybook, and wonderful as such.

DO NOT MISS the tintorettos in the scoula di san rocco (i'm almost definitely spelling that wrong)... i know you're seeing tintoretto with a starbucks-like-regularity, but i ASSURE you that is a must-do... thirty foot long crucifixion!!! take that mel gibson...

i've just spent the past half hour reading most of your italy journal and i am so happy that you're there (except for that we all miss you of course.)

venice. what can i say? personally, it was my favorite place in italy. oh gelato. oh espresso...
