Taking the plunge

We start our two day roadtrip to Texas tomorrow.

I am dead tired, but I feel like I should write something, especially since I don't know when I'm going to have internet again. I still don't even know what exactly I'm going to be doing in Texas. But I can't wait. This month flew by and I feel strange to be leaving Denver before I really got a chance ( Read more... )

When you see this, call me! (You never called me back with an update about your team and stuff. I want to hear more! Also we have to figure out all the "keeping in touch this year" stuff...)

GOOD LUCK!
Sending huge hugs

I'm going to try to call you soon, but in terms of keeping in touch this year, I still don't know what we're going to be doing or where we're staying, so we may be in a cushy extended stay hotel with internet, or the sticks. Actually, it's very likely (according to the rumor mill) that we'll be doing some kind of office work, so internet access shouldn't be a problem. *hug*

I bet that everyone is trying to set deadlines for themselves to "be settled in" but the truth is, a month may not be enough to get to understand and trust people and to understand your own reactions and how you deal with things. You are a nice, thoughtful, awesome person, so I'm not too worried about you not succeeding. And like they say on Tim Gunn's Guide to Style in the "life coach" segment: You can't control how you are perceived, but you can control how you are presented. And you can control whether you let it slide when others make mistakes, and it sounds like you're on all the right roads. Don't forget to have fun!

Thanks. :) You're right, I'm trying to just give it more time and see what happens. What you said about perception is very helpful; I actually repeated it to myself earlier today when everyone was getting cranky in the van. Tim Gunn is the man.

Julia, I'm sitting in our office with Elise Tarbi and we wish you the best of luck in Texas! I really admire you and am confident that you're well on the way to doing Big Things(TM). Here's a song for you to download if you can...

Safe travels! We're thinking of you!

Wow, hi!!! Thanks for the good wishes. Say hi to Elise for me! I can't believe that it's almost been two years since we were in India.
