And a little more sad for your Saturday (Sadturday?). Ah-hem...
=Scene returns to the doorway=
…
…..
My brother finished reading to me from the book.
With that, Nuriko’s story had come to an end.
There was nothing more to tell.
I kept thinking about Nuriko and crying for a long time.
Mitsukake: I should at least… heal her wounds. (1)
You: Nuriko...
Tasuki: Nuriko really was great.
Mitsukake: She was.
You: Don’t... talk about her in the past tense...
You: I... won’t believe it...
You: I refuse to believe that Nuriko’s gone...
Chichiri: I know how you feel, but... we need to lay Nuriko to rest no da.
You: I said I don’t believe it!
*feet running away*
The next thing I knew, I was running away from them.
==Scene: Snowy mountains==
…
Once I was alone, all I could think about were my memories of Nuriko.
We’d been together all this time, but...
You: Why...?
You: Why in the world did it turn out like this...?
...Nuriko...
Tamahome: So this is where you went?
You: ...Tamahome.
Tamahome: ...Let’s go back, [Your Name].
You: ...No. I’m not going back there.
I felt like, if I went back, then I’d have to admit that Nuriko was gone.
Tamahome: The Seiryuu Warriors are after the Shinzaho.
Tamahome: We can’t waste any time.
You: Just... forget it...
You: I don’t want to... go traveling.
You: I don’t want to... fight the Seiryuu Warriors.
Tamahome: This isn’t the time or the place for talk like that.
You: Because... somebody else might die.
You: Next time, you might be the one who ends up dying, Tamahome!
You: Nuriko... died to... keep me safe.
It’s my fault that... Nuriko is...
Tamahome: We’re Celestial Warriors.
Tamahome: We’re all fully prepared to die for you.
You: How... can you...?
You: Well I’m not ready for it at all!!
You: Even though you all mean so much to me, you’re going to die and leave me!
You: ...That’s not something I could ever be ready for.
You: You’re all so important to me, but... if you die, it’ll be all my fault...
You: I don’t know anything... about the Shinzaho. I don’t know anything about summoning Suzaku...
You: If people are going to die, then... summoning Suzaku is meaningless!!
You: So forget it...
You: I can’t be the priestess... anymore...
Tamahome: Ohh, is that right!?
Tamahome: Then fine, to hell with you!
Tamahome: Nuriko could never rest in peace with a priestess like that!
You: ...Tama...home...
Tamahome: I’m sure she died feeling that way!
You: “That way”...
Tamahome: Nuriko did what she did so you could keep going!
Tamahome: So you could summon Suzaku and keep Konan from going to war...
Tamahome: ...And make everyone happy. She protected you with her life for that!
Tamahome: She died to clear the way for you, but...!
Tamahome: You’re gonna let her last wish be for nothing!
Tamahome: ...I don’t think I wanna protect... a brat like that.
You: ...Tamahome, you’re crying.
Tamahome didn’t reply.
He was hurting. It’s not like he wasn’t hurting, but...
But Tamahome, and the others, too... they soldiered on all the same.
I wondered how I could’ve missed seeing something so obvious.
You: ...Nuriko...
…
You: Nuriko won’t disappear from... our memories.
Tamahome: ...Right.
You: ...Nuriko will always be with us.
Tamahome: ...That’s right.
It was true that Nuriko was gone.
But she’d always be there in our memories.
So...
You: Nuriko... I’m sorry.
You: I was wrong.
I took a deep breath.
==Scene: Sky==
You: You protected me, so I’ll receive your last wish!
You: I promise to summon Suzaku!
You: You can brag to everyone in the next world that you traded your life to protect me!
You: I’m going to try to make you proud!
I called it out loudly enough for my voice to reach heaven.
My words rang out and soon disappeared into the sky.
==Scene: Snowy mountain==
Tamahome: Hey...
You: Let’s go, Tamahome.
The pain wouldn’t disappear that easily, but...
But I was able to face forward again.
You: I need to pay my last respects to Nuriko.
You: I can’t let the path that Nuriko made for me be in vain.
Tamahome: Yeah... you’re right.
…
…..
After that, we all made a burial mound for Nuriko…
One by one, we spoke our parting words before we laid Nuriko’s body to rest.
It sort of looked like Nuriko was smiling.
You: Let’s go, everyone...
You: Let’s go get the Shinzaho.
We began to walk down the path that Nuriko had made for us.

Translation Note:
(1) “I should at least… heal his wounds” - I’m marking this one for review because it uses some grammatical forms that I’m a bit fuzzy on. Original: 傷だけでも。。。治してやらなければな (kizu dakedemo… naoshite-yaranakereba na). Both the dakedemo and the ~yaranakereba na are making my eyebrow twitch a bit.

Well. That was cheery. *sweat* Now that I've put a damper on your weekend, I'd better get to work on future Upcoming Events. Because Events are happenings, you guys. I'm hoping to have an announcement next week, along with some happier Ibun. Well... happier-ish, anyway. Look forward to it(?). Sure. We'll go with that.
Cheers,
Dee
