Suzaku Ibun: Mount Koku Arc, The Sad Panda Version, Pt. 3

May 04, 2014 18:08

Ni-hao, minna-san!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last posted. The time do fly, don't it? I do have some translation for you, but I also have some Important And Exciting News.

So I've been talking about this for ages, and now that I'm done with grad school I've finally had time to do it: I've launched a translation blog entitled Kotobanzai! where I can better organize my song, manga, and Ibun translations.

What does this mean for my LJ? Well, it more or less means that I will be phasing it out in the next couple weeks. I'm going to finish posting the Hokkan translations here, and then I'm going to officially move to the new blog. Ibun scenes will continue to be posted, they'll just be in a different place. I'm also working on clean, navigable PDF files. (You can check out the new blog for details.)

I have no intention of deleting the LJ, so you'll still be able to access old posts and translations here. But I'd recommend you favorite (or even subscribe!) to the new blogger blog (and once more, with feeling: http://kotobanzai.blogspot.com/). Yay!

And remember that you can also follow my day-to-day goofiness on Twitter or Tumblr, if you so choose. ^^

Oh, and of course: Episode Four of Ask Westeros is up! Check it out! Giggle lots! And share with everyone!

...So like I said, lots to discuss. But I'm done now, and that means it's time for more Ibun! And let's go ahead and wrap up the Mount Koku multiverse with a slew of new and edited scenes, shall we? We shall!

-----------

Walkthrough Note: Remember that I use these ----- to denote a line that is the same in every version. This should help you find your place in the original script and know when to jump to these alternate Yuu-niverses.
[The dialog is the same once you enter the mountain cave until your MC is trapped in the ice, then...]

-----I was falling unconscious.

-----...I could die here...

-----In a place like this...

...Nuriko.

I caught myself wishing for Nuriko’s help.

She sacrificed her life for me.

She left the future in my hands.

So then...

I wasn’t about to give up here. Not after Nuriko protected me.

I wouldn’t lose. Simple as that.

Nuriko’s feelings, her dying wish-as long as I carried them in my heart, then…!

=flashes red=

------.

-----Tamahome: What the…? She just glowed red.

[The dialog is the same until you leave the mountain cave, and then...]

==Scene: Snowy Mountain==

???: Grrr...

You: Wha...?

=screen shakes=

You: Oww!!

Something jumped at me and took the Shinzaho from my hands.

Tamahome: You okay!?

You: Yeah... But the Shinzaho!

???: Oo~...

Tasuki: What? A wolf?

You: ...He’s got the Shinzaho in his mouth.

Those eyes... Is that Ashitare!?

You: ...The Shinzaho. Give it back.

I got the feeling the wolf was grinning broadly at me.

You: W-wait!

You: Give that back!

Mitsukake: Don’t.

You: Mitsukake!? Let me go!

You: I finally had the Shinzaho!

Mitsukake: It’s impossible for a human to outrun a wolf.

[Except maybe, I dunno... a seishi whose power is speed!? Whose nickname is “Phantom WOLF”?! *facepalm*]

You: But!

Mitsukake: Calm down. He may be luring you into a trap.

…..

You: ...And I’d finally gotten the Shinzaho, too...

Tamahome: Don’t get down on yourself.

Tasuki: That’s right. If someone robs ya, then ya just gotta rob ‘em right back.

Tasuki: That’s how us bandits do it.

You: Tasuki... I’m not a bandit. But thanks.

Chiriko: I think the important thing is that we keep moving.

Chiriko: Let’s reflect on the past without regretting it, and look ahead.

You: ...Okay.

Chichiri: We’re with you, Priestess of Suzaku no da.

Chichiri: As long as you don’t give up, then no one here will either no da.

You: You guys... Thank you.

Tamahome: We’re not giving up.

Tamahome: Where there’s life, there’s hope.

...

You: ...Mm. Yeah, you’re right...

You: I can’t give up.

You: Let’s go!

You: We have to summon Suzaku!

==Scene: Blue Sky==

Wait for me, Misaki-chan. I swear I’ll get it back someday.

You: From now on, no matter what happens, we won’t give up on anything.

You: You guys, let’s give it our all one more time.

You: For the sake of summoning Suzaku, for all of you, and most importantly, for my own beliefs!

==Scene: Snowy mountain==

Tasuki: Awriiight! Let’s go!

Tamahome: Let’s get to it!

Chiriko: I believe we have recovered. Let’s go, everyone.

Chichiri: We’ll head out together, [Your Name] no da. ♪

Mitsukake: Let’s be off, then.

Tamahome: Give us the order, Priestess of Suzaku.

You: Mm!

You: The Priestess of Suzaku and her Celestial Warriors: Once more, away we go!

-----------

Hm... you know, in my head, that was a much longer piece of translation than it actually was. (sweat) Oh, well.

I'm gonna try to double-post this week so I can wrap up the Hokkan Arc. All we have left is some alternate dialogue (returning to various locations) and the "Borderlands" location. Shouldn't be too hard for me to put together, assuming the RL doesn't get it the way. Silly RL.
